John Dumelo, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has declared his opposition to Members of Parliament (MPs) using sirens on their vehicles to facilitate movement when on duty.
In a widely shared video, Mr John Dumelo addressed his personal view on the issue, stating that while sirens may facilitate movement, he does not believe them important for his duties as an MP. “I was with him in parliament for orientation, but I have just gone.

“A Plus says we need sirens; maybe that’s his opinion, but personally, I don’t think I need one,” he remarked, referring to comments made by his colleague, Kwame Obeng Asare, also known as A Plus.

The Ayawaso West Wuogon MP admitted that the problem has sparked a long-running debate among MPs, with some arguing for the deployment of sirens. However, he underlined his personal disagreement with this viewpoint. “I know some people do, and it’s a debate that has been ongoing for some time, but personally, I don’t,” he said.
The question of whether MPs should be allowed to use sirens for transportation continues to divide views, with some believing that it improves efficiency in executing their duties and others seeing it as needless and disruptive.
