In the aftermath of a devastating fire that swept through parts of Tema Newtown, Mayor Ebi Bright paid a solemn visit to the affected community to assess the extent of the destruction and offer support to families who lost their homes.
Walking through the charred remains of structures and belongings, the Mayor spoke with residents whose lives were upended by the blaze. She described the emotional toll as profound, emphasizing the responsibility of city leadership during times of crisis.

“The emotional toll is deep,” she said. “This is a reminder of why our duty to protect and support our people is so important.”
Mayor Ebi Bright assured the community that the municipal assembly is mobilizing all necessary support systems. She stated that the city will work hand-in-hand with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), community leaders, and relevant agencies to ensure rapid and coordinated relief efforts.
“We will work closely with NADMO, community leaders, and all relevant agencies to ensure that relief reaches those who need it most,” she affirmed. “No family will be left behind.”
Local authorities are currently assessing the number of displaced households and the scope of assistance required. Emergency relief including temporary shelter, food supplies, and essential items is expected to be deployed as assessments are completed.
Residents have expressed appreciation for the Mayor’s swift visit and assurances, hoping that reconstruction and support efforts will begin as soon as possible.
