Black Queens forward, Mukarama Abdulai says it is an honour to be back in the squad after earning a spot in Nora Hauptle’s side for the International friendly against Japan.
The former Black Maidens captain is back in the squad after a long absence following a stellar campaign with Hasaacas Ladies in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League. Mukarama who led the Black Maidens to the quarter-final of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2018, believes working under Nora will uplift her game once more .
“To me it is always an honor and pleasure to be here. It’s been a while and being back here is something I appreciate so much even with different kind of players and different group of girls”. Mukarama told the Black Queens media team.
‘I think it has been great so far, I am always happy to here. Playing with the Queens is a long phase and the senior national team so my goal as a Player or as a person is to follow whatever the coach wants to achieve first, before personally what I expect to achieve in my career”.
The one time youth (U-17) Golden boot winner at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup (seven goals) emphasized on working hard to reciprocate her scoring form with the senior national side.
“Yes that’s something I am working hard towards, because I have been out for a while and coming back has not been easy. I am working extra hard to get there”.
“It will be a good exercise for us because we’ve really been working hard to get to the highest level of Women’s football and Japan is one of the teams that we are looking forward to play against”.
”We will show up and put out our best because it is a friendly so we are not emphasizing on the result but to see how we are going to work and to see what the coach expects us to do in a match’’.
”We just want to say thank you to Ghanaians for their support. It is really something that we appreciate so much and they should keep their support behind us because we need it” she added
