The Black Stars of Ghana are set to depart for Libya on Sunday, October 13, 2024, as they prepare for their crucial TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Matchday 4 qualifier against Sudan. Following a disappointing 0-0 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, the team is eager to secure their first victory in the qualifiers and reignite their campaign.

Despite dominating large portions of the game, the Black Stars failed to capitalize on key opportunities, leaving them with only two points from three games. This result places them third in Group F, making the upcoming match against Sudan a must-win if Ghana hopes to boost their qualifying chances for next year’s AFCON tournament in Morocco.

Coach Otto Addo’s squad wrapped up their final training session on Saturday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium, focusing on tactical drills and sharpening their attacking strategies. The team is determined to correct the mistakes that plagued their performance in the first leg and secure a much-needed victory in the reverse fixture.

Upon their arrival in Libya, the Black Stars will hold a mandatory training session at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Monday, ahead of the match. The game is scheduled to kick off at 13:00 GMT on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Ghana’s qualification hopes hang in the balance as they face Sudan for the second time in less than a week. Coach Otto Addo has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to deliver a better performance and clinch a vital win.

A victory against Sudan would propel the Black Stars into a stronger position in Group F, revitalizing their AFCON qualification journey.
