A split decision decided the much-awaited Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury, the former heavyweight champion of the UFC, was denied an incredible upset victory in a non-title bout crossover boxing bout between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. Although Tyson Fury was declared the winner, Ngannou’s followers and admirers feel that the verdict is questionable. In spite of the debate, the battle has greatly increased throughout Europe.
The fight took place on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A dream bout between the best heavyweights in boxing and mixed martial arts.
Francis Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion from Cameroon, faced off against WBC and lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
The bout was governed by the official professional boxing regulations, and the 10-point must system was implemented by three judges present at the ringside. Ten rounds were planned for the battle.
Both combatants gave it their all, and the fight was quite tight. Ngannou used a left hook to take down Fury during the third round. Fury stood up, made it through, and recovered throughout the intermissions, requiring rounds four, five, and six.
