NINE, a film starring a varied cast of skilled performers from Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, and the United States, will be released in Silverbird and Mall cinemas on Friday, November 29, 2024.
NINE, written by Briana Cole and Erica Joy, is around a sequence of mysterious deaths of young women that occur during a full Ghanaian moon, prompting a forensic expert and an American homicide detective to collaborate. Driven by grief, the US detective’s search for his daughter’s murderer takes him to Africa, where he and a group of assassins uncover a terrifying spate of witchcraft-related homicides.
Chris Attoh directed and produced the film, which provides a new industry perspective while creating bonds among its ensemble members.
Speaking at a press screening at the Silverbird Cinema on Monday, November 25, Chris Attoh stated that “this will be an excellent platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among industry stakeholders.” We are not only looking forward to the film’s success, but also to it serving as a platform for industry players to learn and grow together,” he said. Rosemary Zimu, known for her roles in Netflix’s “Shadow” and the hit TV show “Savage Beauty,” Kate Henshaw, known for her roles in Netflix’s “Blood Sisters” and “Chief Daddy,” and Damien D. Smith from FX’s “Snowfall” and USA’s “The Purge,” are among the leading casts for Chris Attoh’s film.
Among these African cinema stars are talented Ghanaian actors Fred Amugi, Juliet Ibrahim, Adjetey Anang, Zynnel Zuh, Sika Osei, Gideon Kojo Boakye, Ijeoma Grace Agu, Pascal Aka, and Darlyn Adu-Gyamfi.
