Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy has proudly graduated from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) with a Second Class Upper in Public Administration. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the artist’s life, showcasing his dedication to personal growth and education.
Stonebwoy, whose real name is Livingstone Etse Satekla, made headlines when he decided to return to academia in 2021, having previously paused his studies at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) to pursue his music career. His triumphant graduation ceremony, held on July 26 at GIMPA’s premises, was a star-studded affair, attended by his family and notable music stars including Chris Waddle.
The musician’s return to education was significantly influenced by his wife, Dr. Louisa Ansong Satekla, a certified dentist, who played a pivotal role in his academic journey. Dr. Louisa’s unwavering support and encouragement were instrumental in Stonebwoy’s decision to complete his studies. She even went the extra mile by purchasing his admission forms, highlighting the strength of their partnership.
The graduation ceremony was a joyous occasion for the Satekla family. Stonebwoy was accompanied by his wife and their two children, Catherine Jidula and Janam. After his final exam, the family celebrated with a heartwarming party at home, emphasizing the close-knit nature of their bond.
Stonebwoy’s achievement is not just a personal victory but also a testament to the importance of balancing career aspirations with educational goals. His passion for public administration stems from a deep-seated belief in contributing to public welfare, an area he deems crucial for societal development.
As the reigning TGMA Artist of the Year, Stonebwoy’s dedication to his studies amidst a demanding music career is truly commendable. His journey serves as an inspiration to many, proving that with determination and support, it’s possible to achieve academic excellence while excelling in other fields.
