Wanderlust Ghana is gearing up for an epic journey like no other, set to captivate the imagination of travel enthusiasts worldwide. The team is embarking on a thrilling 30,000-kilometer road trip that will span three months and cover 30 countries, beginning on Monday, September 30, 2024. This grand adventure was unveiled at a vibrant send-off event held at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority on Sunday, September 8.
Following their successful 10,000-kilometer journey in 2023, which saw them travel from Accra through several African nations to London in the UK, Wanderlust Ghana is now setting their sights on a more ambitious feat. The team’s 2024 expedition aims to elevate Ghana’s profile as a prime tourist destination, showcasing its beauty and potential on the global stage.
Speaking at the launch, Kwabena Peprah, CEO of Wanderlust Ghana, emphasized the significance of the journey. “For us, this time around, it’s about making Ghana a tourist destination for most foreigners,” Peprah explained. “We’re embracing the challenge and revelling in the journey.” His words echoed the team’s determination to not only explore but to inspire, as they chart new paths across different terrains and cultures.
The journey, backed by the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism, is a bold initiative aimed at promoting Ghana’s tourism potential and strengthening its connections with other nations. Wanderlust Ghana’s route will traverse some of the world’s most diverse landscapes, from the arid deserts of Mauritania to the glittering skyscrapers of Dubai, and down to the southern tip of Africa in Cape Town.
Throughout their adventure, the team will make stops in several iconic destinations, including Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, Spain, France, Turkey, Kenya, and many others. Each stop promises to be a cultural immersion, blending the thrill of travel with the goal of showcasing the unique charms of each country, while shining a spotlight on Ghana’s growing appeal as a destination of choice for international tourists.
