Charity Kessewaa Frimpong is a Ghanaian media professional, Pan-African advocate, and the Head of Media at the Embassy for the Diaspora (Diaspora African Forum). Known for her work in promoting African cultural identity and diaspora engagement, she is recognized for her commitment to shaping narratives about the continent from an Afrocentric perspective. Widely referred to as the “Daughter of the Soil,” she has played a notable role in advancing cultural diplomacy, youth development, and digital storytelling across Ghana and the African diaspora.

Career

Charity Kessewaa Frimpong serves as the Head of Media at the Diaspora African Forum (DAF), an institution dedicated to strengthening ties between Africa and its global diaspora. In this capacity, she represents the organization at public events and engagements under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Erieka Bennett, Founder and Head of Mission for DAF. Her work involves high-level communications, brand development, and strategic media coordination for diplomatic and corporate initiatives.

Frimpong has contributed to a variety of projects centered on cultural promotion, African unity, and diaspora involvement in African development. Her experience in event coordination and media strategy has positioned her as an advocate for reframing global perceptions of Africa through storytelling.

In 2020, Frimpong co-founded SamChat TV, a digital media platform aimed at using storytelling for community development. Through the platform, she oversaw digital media projects in rural Ghana, documenting local narratives and social challenges. SamChat TV also covered prominent diplomatic and corporate events, highlighting her adaptability and skill in media production.

Beyond her media work, Frimpong supports diaspora engagement through curated cultural tours in Ghana, emphasizing heritage education and cultural immersion. In 2019, she founded LaGlitz Jewellery, an Afrocentric jewelry brand focused on crafting pieces inspired by African cultural symbolism and identity.

Frimpong is also the founder of The Eye Opener Foundation, established in 2023 to promote youth empowerment and community development through advocacy, mentorship, and skills-building initiatives.

Education

Frimpong holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Media, Arts, and Communication (UniMac-GIJ). She is pursuing a Master of Science in International Relations at the University of Gold Coast.
