The Ghanaian gospel music community is preparing to bid a heartfelt farewell to one of its most influential voices, Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, affectionately known as KODA. The beloved gospel legend will be laid to rest on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the KICC Dominion Centre, Spintex Road, off Coca-Cola Roundabout in Accra. The dress code for the service is all white, symbolizing a celebration of his impactful life and legacy.KODA

KODA’s sudden passing on Sunday, April 24, at the age of 45, sent shockwaves through the nation and the global gospel music community. Known for his powerful voice, masterful songwriting, and contributions to the genre, KODA’s influence on contemporary Ghanaian gospel music is undeniable.

With a career that spanned decades, KODA left an indelible mark on both the local and international gospel music scenes. His production work helped shape the sound of Ghanaian gospel music, having produced for iconic names like the late Danny Nettey, Ps. Joe Beechem, Nii Okai, Halal Afrika, and Eugene Zuta, among others. His exceptional talent earned him numerous awards and recognition, not just as a performer, but also as a producer passionate about mentoring others.

KODA’s personal record demonstrates his versatility and commitment to sharing the word. His discography comprises three studio albums, two live albums, and two instrumental/jazz albums, cementing his status as a pioneer of gospel music in Ghana. His sixth vocal CD, Keteke, demonstrated his unique ability to combine traditional Ghanaian sounds with contemporary gospel music.
