The package also includes support for the production of a music video for the artiste’s next project, alongside curated business intelligence to guide their commercial and creative growth.

According to Yaa Amoah-Owusu, Head of Media and Partnerships at Guinness Ghana, the Album/EP of the Year category represents the highest level of artistry. The move marks an expansion of Guinness Ghana’s role beyond sponsorship, positioning the company as a strategic partner in the development of Ghana’s creative economy. It also comes at a time when full-length music projects are regaining importance as key artistic statements within the industry.

Nominees for the 2026 Album/EP of the Year category highlight the diversity of Ghana’s music scene. They include Black Sherif (Iron Boy), Stonebwoy, Gyakie (After Midnight), Medikal (Disturbation II), Wendy Shay (Ready), and Kweku Smoke (Walk With Me).

Reacting to the announcement, Robert Klah, Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Productions, described the initiative as timely and impactful. He noted that it aligns with the organisation’s mission to celebrate Ghanaian music while providing meaningful support to artistes, adding that it reinforces the value of albums and EPs as enduring creative works.

Beyond the financial incentive, the prize package will also feature a curated listening experience aimed at boosting audience engagement, industry networking, and visibility for the winner’s future releases.

The 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards is scheduled to take place on May 9, 2026.
