Ghanaian gospel sensation, Joyce Blessing, is set to break new ground with an exciting collaboration that’s sure to spark conversation across the music industry. In an exclusive interview on TV3’s The Afternoon Show on Thursday, September 19, the “Victory” hitmaker revealed she is working on a “powerful gospel song” featuring renowned rapper D-Black and highlife maestro Kwabena Kwabena.

Joyce Blessing’s announcement is already turning heads, as the collaboration with two secular artists challenges the traditional boundaries of gospel music. Addressing potential backlash, she expressed that she sees nothing wrong in working with non-gospel musicians, as their talents, she believes, also come from God.

“My victory song was written by Kuami Eugene. He directed the video and did everything. I only promoted it. So there’s nothing wrong collaborating with them. The talent they have is also from God, so we cannot sit here and close our eyes and say King Paluta is not from God because he is not singing gospel,” Joyce remarked.

This collaboration will not be her first venture outside the gospel-only lane. Joyce Blessing recalled how she was initially criticised by her fans for featuring secular artist Joel Ackah in a previous song. Yet, in time, the song became a fan favorite, further proving that music has the power to transcend labels and connect on a deeper, spiritual level.

“All of them, God gave them the gift they have, so I don’t see anything wrong if you are a gospel artiste and want to collaborate with secular musicians,” she continued. “I have one coming up with D-Black and Kwabena Kwabena, it’s oncoming.”

With this bold new project, Joyce Blessing is sure to stir the waters in both gospel and secular circles. Her pairing with D-Black, a titan in Ghanaian rap, and Kwabena Kwabena, a highlife icon, promises a dynamic fusion of styles that will captivate music lovers from all walks of life. This move could redefine the crossover potential between gospel and mainstream music, bridging a gap that often keeps artists in separate lanes.

Joyce Blessing has also blessed the airwaves with her latest single, ‘Overdo’, which is now available on all major streaming platforms.
