Katy Perry sparked online buzz by going Instagram official with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, sharing a series of photos from their trip to Japan. The post featured a cozy selfie and a clip of them enjoying sushi, alongside the caption, “Tokyo times on tour and more,” which intensified romance rumors surrounding the pair.
The images come amid an ongoing swirl of rumors linking the singer and the 53-year-old political figure, who was spotted attending one of Perry’s concerts earlier this year. Perry is currently traveling across the globe with her Lifetimes Tour, which made its latest stop in Tokyo.
Earlier this week, Trudeau added more fuel to the fire by reposting a photo of himself and Perry alongside former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko.
He wrote on X:
“Great to see you Fumio Kishida. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko. Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone.”
While neither Perry nor Trudeau has directly addressed their relationship, their appearance together has increasingly become less subtle.
Paris Sparks First Public PDA
Last month, the two appeared to essentially confirm their relationship when they were photographed hand-in-hand at an event in Paris. In photos and video obtained by TMZ, Trudeau is seen guiding Perry into a car as photographers captured the moment an outing that coincided with the singer’s 41st birthday.
Hints From the Stage
During a recent London stop on her tour, katy Perry fanned the flames further. After a fan jokingly proposed to her mid-concert, she quipped:
“I wish you’d asked me 48 hours ago.”
Her comment came just days after the Paris images first surfaced.
A New Chapter for Both
Katy Perry was previously in a long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom. The two share a daughter and quietly separated over the summer after a decade together.
Trudeau, who served as Canada’s prime minister from 2015 to 2025, announced his separation from Sophie Grégoire in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. They share three children.
As of now, representatives for both Perry and Trudeau have not responded to requests for comment but their increasingly public appearances seem to be telling their own story.
