Samini has officially announced plans to release his eighth studio album, ORIGIN8A, on February 12, 2026, marking a major milestone in his illustrious career.
The forthcoming project represents a defining moment for the award-winning artist, both creatively and personally. Its striking cover art features a prominent 8-ball, a symbol Samini says reflects destiny, alignment, completeness, and a conscious return to his musical roots.
Describing the inspiration behind the album, Samini revealed that ORIGIN8A is deeply personal, centering on themes of growth, reconciliation, and purpose.
“This album represents my journey coming full circle. ORIGIN8A is about remembering where I come from, reconnecting with my roots, and celebrating the people who shaped my story,” Samini said.
More than a collection of songs, ORIGIN8A is positioned as a musical homecoming. The album reunites Samini with several artists he mentored during the early stages of their careers, reinforcing long-standing bonds within Ghana’s music industry.
Confirmed collaborators include Mugeez of R2Bees, Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata, and Kaakie—partnerships that highlight shared history, unity, and mutual respect. The project also boasts an eclectic lineup of contributors such as the internationally acclaimed Soweto Gospel Choir, alongside M.anifest and Kuami Eugene, blending generations and cultural perspectives under a unified artistic vision.
Musically, ORIGIN8A delivers a rich pan-African soundscape. The album incorporates traditional African rhythms, highlife, Afrobeats, Afropop, Amapiano, African dancehall, and reggae, showcasing Samini’s versatility while staying true to the sounds that shaped his early career and influenced Ghana’s contemporary music scene.
The symbolic 8-ball motif extends beyond aesthetics, according to the artist.
“After all the years of experimenting, touring, and evolving, I believe this is the moment where everything aligns again. ORIGIN8A is purpose-driven music,” Samini explained.
