“I haven’t spoken to you, Davido, but I do want you to know that I do love you and I would never betray you or take sides,” she said earnestly.
The Grammy-nominated star revealed that she had filed a police report concerning Davido not out of malice, but as a precautionary measure. According to Tiwa, the situation stemmed from a miscommunication that escalated unexpectedly.
“I think it was a miscommunication,” she explained. “I think out of anger, maybe he might have made threats.”
While she stressed that she doesn’t believe Davido would follow through on those alleged threats, Tiwa Savage emphasized the need to protect herself in a world where words can have dangerous ripple effects.
“Do I think he was really going to go ahead with it? No. But again, I’m not taking any risks,” she said. “You could be saying it around people who wanna now act out on what you’re saying.”
Before taking official action, Tiwa Savage shared that she attempted to resolve the matter quietly and respectfully by reaching out to Davido’s family.
“Before I did that, I reached out to members of his family, I’m not gonna say names but people that are older than him. I said, ‘I’m hearing threats, can we solve this?’ And none of them came back to me,” she revealed. “Just for the record, before I do anything, can we solve this?”
Her message throughout the interview remained clear, no animosity, just a call for mutual understanding and respect in an industry where reputations and safety are on the line.
