Renowned film producer and director Shirley Frimpong Manso has once again showed that she’s a force to reckon with when it comes to delivering a masterpiece in the movie industry.
Few months ago, the director announced that she’s hitting locations again with her crew and cast many of whom were merely new and yet to have their big shot in the movie industry. After auditioning these individuals and hitting the set to deliver on this project, the end results is simply incredible.
The film, which had its initial showing in a few UK theaters, notably the Odeon Imax Cinemas in London, drew a large crowd of movie lovers on Friday, November 29, 2024. As usual, Shirley brought together some of the best talent to carry out this endeavor, including well-known actors Rita Dominic, Gloria Sarfo, and Akrobeto Akwasi Boadi. Akosua Agyapong, Arion Amon, Gideon Kojo Boakye, Adomaa Adaom, Dean Louis, Sena Fafali Ahiable, Michael Katahena, Abla Sena, Araba Dansowaa, Jessica Larny, and Chiderah David were among the others.
Shirley Frimpong Manso, who spoke during the launch, underlined the importance of pursuing high-quality and impactful tales for society. She also discussed the importance of discovering new talent in order to keep the film business flourishing. Rita Dominic stars in ‘Two of a Kind’ as a resort owner who is dealing with her own tragedy while attempting to repair the shattered marriage of a young couple celebrating their first anniversary at her resort.
However, things are not as they appear. As the anniversary progresses, secrets are uncovered, the couple’s relationship is tested, and the entrance of their friends adds to the pressure. For the resort owner, saving their love becomes a war against her inner battles, which might either heal or break her. Some of the cast members expressed their pleasure to be a part of such a production and encouraged film makers to continue doing their best to help the movie industry in Ghana and Africa as a whole. Shirley Frimpong Manso is a well-known and award-winning Ghanaian writer, producer, and director with a large number of film credits.
The movie ‘TWO OF A KIND’ which is is set to premiere in Ghana at the Silverbird Cinemas at both West Hills Mall & Accra Mall from Friday 20th December 2024 after the hugely successful premiere in the UK.
