Ghana Police Service and other Security Agencies Celebrate the outgoing chief of defense Staff with a grand guard of Honor 

Ghana Police Service, along with other esteemed security agencies, orchestrated a grand guard of honour parade to bid farewell to Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). The ceremonious event unfolded at the National Police Headquarters on January 30, 2024, marking a historic moment in the annals of Ghana’s security services.

The parade not only showcased precision and discipline but also served as a testament to the camaraderie that defines the collaboration between various branches of Ghana’s security apparatus. Heads of the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority all joined hands in honoring Vice Admiral Amoama’s over four decades of steadfast commitment to the nation.

Addressing the assembly, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, expressed profound appreciation for Vice Admiral Seth Amoama’s distinguished service. The IGP emphasized the collaborative spirit that flourished between the Ghana Police Service and the military under Vice Admiral Amoama’s leadership, highlighting the positive impact on national security.

A series of heartfelt tributes followed, as heads of other security services took turns to commend Vice Admiral Amoama for his exemplary dedication and collaborative support. The Director-General of Prisons, Mr. Isaac Kofi Egyir; the Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Julius Kuunuor; the Comptroller General of Immigration, Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi; and the Commissioner of the Customs Division, Alhaji Seidu Iddrisu Iddisah, collectively presented a citation of honour to the outgoing CDS, acknowledging his outstanding leadership qualities and the unbreakable bonds forged among the security agencies during his tenure.

Responding to the accolades, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for entrusting him with the leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces. He commended the heads of security agencies for their dedication and the Inspector-General of Police for orchestrating an unprecedented guard of honour, describing it as a historic first in the history of Ghana’s security services.
