Black Stars coach Otto Addo has just announced a thrilling 25-man squad for the pivotal Group F qualifiers against Angola and Niger. With Ghana aiming to secure a place in Morocco 2025, this squad selection is packed with seasoned international stars and rising local talents who have captured the spotlight in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
Among the standout local selections are Isaac Afful from FC Samartex 1996, Razak Simpson of Nations FC, and Asante Kotoko’s Emmanuel Antwi. These three home-based players have proven their worth and earned their spots through remarkable performances, marking a proud moment for the Ghana Premier League and igniting excitement among fans for local talents representing on the international stage.
Returning to the squad is France-based defender Nathaniel Adjei, who currently plays for Ligue 2’s FC Lorient. Adjei’s inclusion adds defensive strength and flexibility to the team. KAS Eupen’s Abdul Manaf Nurudeen is also making a comeback as goalkeeper, ending over a year’s absence from the national team.
For Ghana, the stakes could not be higher. In addition to winning both games, Otoo Addo and his squad must hope that Sudan loses their remaining games in order to secure their place in Morocco.
The squad headed by Otto Addo will face Angola in Luanda on Friday, November 15, before returning to the Accra Sports Stadium to host Niger on Monday, November 18, 2024.
Both games are expected to be fiercely contested, with Ghanaian fans eagerly backing their team to make a return to the AFCON stage.
